Noche Buena or “Good Night” is a very special night for Filipinos. This is the time where family and very close friends come by and enjoy their special Christmas Eve dinner. To most Americans, community and family are somewhat of a side thought, but for Filipinos, its the very air they breathe. And so for Christmas, its a very remarkably special day.
We wanted to make it more special by giving an entire church Christmas gifts in the form of meals, bags of rice, coffee, noodles, medication for those who needed it and slippers for the children and the elderly.
In the end, we were overjoyed to be able to make Noche Buena for around 100 people a little more special this year than the last. We hope to be a small piece in making many more families’s Noche Buenas special in the years to come.
