Love isn’t a finite resource. The more you give, the more you have. It’s something you only run out of if you don’t hand it out. Aileen Velasco took the opportunity to have bible study with her ill mother as an expression of love towards her.
What began as a one on one bible study with Aileen and her mother, blossomed into a larger bible study. Due to the nature of Aileen mother’s condition, she had a caretaker with her at all times taking 12 hour long shifts. Overtime, the caretakers would come to know Christ through the online bible studies that they would do from across the world. Eventually, the caretakers began to invite their own children to come and sit while they work so they could be part of the bible study.
It’s now a weekly pattern with these young children and Aileen and her mother. It’s an amazing example of how ones love for another always expands to those around them. This is the way God loves us, and the way that we are to love others. It is an ever expanding cascade of love and care for another, valuing their lives over our own and choosing to be with those around us through it all.
